Q: What is the best way to gain Wealth in the game?

A:It really depends on what you prefer doing. Some people would say that hacking the banks is the best way to get lots of credits, others would say that you can do just as well on the small pay missions and just do lots of them at once. Q: One of the missions seems to need a Voice Analyser... Do I need a microphone?

A: No, you do not need a microphone. If you have played the tutorial mission you would have seen where to buy this piece of software for your Gateway.

Q: There seems to be an "invisible trace" tracking me down when I hack into a bank account, though the Trace_Tracker does not show any trace. But I always get caught.

A: There are two types of trace, an Active Trace and a Passive trace. I suggest people read the help files and look for those two words. - What is happening, is that you have not covered your tracks well enough and are being slowly traced by another hacker - That is a Passive Trace.

Q: I have a mission where I have to delete all files from a server, though when I hack into that server there is nothing there. What should I do?

A: Firstly - don't panic. There is a way around this even though there are no actual files to delete. Hack into the system as you would with another mission of this type and drop into the console. Delete the usr folder and just go through the general motions that you would normally. Once you have exited from the server, go into the Uplink news board and wait until the news comes up about that company and reply to the mission email. This should complete the mission and you can get on with the game.

Q: How do I send Bank/Hacker Details to an employer?

A: If you have a mission that requires you to send details to the employer (i.e. Loan Amount, Hackers Name), simply hit reply, wait for the message to complete, and then type in the information at the bottom. Then click send and you should receive a mission complete mail.

Q: My password and user name doesn't work on the test mission.

A: That's because you aren't supposed to use YOUR user name and password on the test machine, you are supposed to hack it. Run through the tutorial.

Q: Only Connections from trusted systems allowed.

A: To connect to systems displaying this message (normally Central Mainframes), go to InterNIC, find the Internal Services Machine of the same company and add it to your list. Make sure that this machine is the bounce point directly before the Mainframe. For example, say you wanted to connect to ARC Central Mainframe. First connect to InterNIC (this should always be your first bounce point), then to a few banks, then to ARC Internal Services Machine, then to ARC Central Mainframe.
